Hey everyone! Welcome back to Flippin' with Emily. Following up after the Oregon meet we recently had, our week was pretty busy. In the weeks that we have meets we’re already prepared for hard practices and extra work. It’s the same if it’s an away meet or a home meet , the main difference for home meets is that the entire roster gets to be a part of all that’s involved . Our starting lineup is 24 and the entire team consists of 55. The travel team changes week after week and you’re never guaranteed a spot. That’s why when we travel we don’t check into our flight until sometime six hours before because you never know who will be traveling. So with it being a home meet, it was great to be with everybody. We start the day off with a team lunch. Everybody shows up wearing the exact same T-shirt and black pants and the lunch is at the banc on campus. The banc is amazing. They always prepare us the most delicious pre-meet meal and fuel our bodies properly to ensure we have enough energy for a long day of warmups and competition . It also gives us time to socialize with our teammates. Team lunches are always fun. The vibes are always positive. It’s one of my favorite parts of all the meets . After the lunch, we go to the ferrell center where we have a visualization practice and go over all our events and have a meeting with the coaches . We then have a little downtime to get in our uniform, fix our hair and make up and get pumped up with the team. Baylor has some of the most exciting Home meets at the Ferrell center. They play our hype video on the big screen. They have loud music, flashing lights and smoke for when we run out on the Matt. In my opinion, nobody doesn’t like Baylor. Once the meat starts we zone in and do our job. Our job is not just to compete our skills, but it’s also to be there for our teammates and cheer them on. After the meet is over, usually my mom will come down and talk to me. I also get to interact with spectators. It's exciting to see people watching our sport and my favorite part is when I meet little girls Who want to do what we do when they get older. All of the spectators are always so super supportive and it’s a great feeling. Like I said before no one does it like Baylor from the fans to the show. It’s always a big deal and I love it and I wouldn’t wanna be at any other university or on any other team than the Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team, they gave me sisters and friends that I’ll have for my entire life. Thank you for watching and I’ll talk to you soon.!
