My Acrobatics and Tumbling Spring Break!!!
Emily Bott
3/9/25
Hello everyone! Welcome back to Flippin with Emily. It’s meet week again and this one’s away. This one is a little different because we have 2 away meets in one trip . I’m headed to Missouri to compete against Missouri State University, and then we’re headed to Pittsburgh to go against Duquesne University. I have to say this was one of the most challenging meets to get ready for personally. I had three classes on Thursday then we had practice and then I had about an hour to get the rest of my stuff ready and be at the bus. Another challenging part about this meet is I hurt myself about two weeks ago when I’m trying to feel better and it’s very hard with so much running around to do, But I’m confident I’ll push through and everything will work out. I took a bus ride from Waco to Dallas International Airport. We hopped on the flight and by the time we landed and got to our hotel it was about 12:30 AM. Shortly after checking into my room I had to go and hand my phone into the coaches. I’m not sure if you remember for one of my previous blogs that we have to hand our phones in so we can have our head in the game for the entire time we are away. I was able to keep my laptop because there’s always schoolwork that has to be done. We had a few changes made to our starting lineup so there’s a couple new girls traveling. I’m excited about that. I got up early this morning and headed down to breakfast. This hotel had breakfast for us, if the hotel doesn’t offer a hot breakfast then usually we’ll take a bus to a local place that does. Today after breakfast I went on a coffee run with a few of my teammates and we all took a picture in front of a truck that was shaped like a hot dog. It was a lot of fun. After doing some schoolwork, I’ll get ready for practice and that’s about two hours at the university. When we practice at away meets, it’s not as tough as practice at home because we try to come as prepared as possible so it’s just a run through and we’re not beating up our bodies because we wanna be on our best for meet time. Dinner for every meet that we travel to is different depending on the hotel . The coaches bring dinner in for us and we all eat together in its big meeting room. Just like the rest of the meets, it's always a good time to have dinner with my teammates. Ok everybody, it's time for bed now. I’ll let you know how we did in our meeting in the next blog and I’ll talk to you soon.
